Summary: Press brake operators produce parts from metals using a CNC [computer numeric controlled] piece of equipment that produces precision bends, punches or cuts into the material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities       

  • Follows all safety policies and procedures in the performance of duties and utilizes and practices methods for continuous improvement.
  • Perform setups on a Press brake utilizing the part drawing.
  • Read blue prints to interpret appropriate tools to use, bend allowances, bending sequence, type of bend, calculate material tonnage, etc.
  • Able to understand the part drawing for making adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed, path of the cut.
  • Working knowledge of punch and die configurations, tip radius and the effect on part geometry
  • Ensure machines are set up properly, working well and producing quality product
  • Perform inspections on produced parts by using precision measuring and gauging equipment.
  • Perform and document all Job/Routing procedures as directed.
  • Perform material handling functions including packaging.
  • Assemble, Load and Maintain Tooling, Fixtures, Jigs, Etc.
  • Consistently maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Consistently perform at or above established Production, Quality, and Efficiency Standards.
  • Demonstrate high standards of Personal Conduct, Dependability, Versatility and Cooperation.
  • Suggest ideas to improve job processes and inform manager of suggestions. Provides feedback to department manager when the job is not running within 20% of standard.
  • Provides adequate feedback to Department Managers/Engineering by using  M.E.C.R forms and  notes on the routing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos; basic math skills, working knowledge of computer systems
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Working knowledge of DRC back gauge controls and 1 specialized back gauge system.( Race, Cincinnati, etc.)

Job Summary

Provide basic CAD layout on customer parts and develop CNC machine codes and shop prints required to fabricate parts. Provide new product designs and tooling designs through interaction with customers and account management to create part designs that meet customer requirements. Education and Experience:

  • BS in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Engineering Experience:  
    • Production Support Engineer - Minimum of 2 years o Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer – Minimum of 4 years
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing principles and processes preferred (punch, bend, welding, etc.)
  • Production Support Engineer (only)
    • Trumpf TruPunch programming experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Production Support Engineer and Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Proficient use of CAD/CAM computer products; SolidWorks experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge and skills in reading blueprints and detailed schematics, technical writing, and troubleshooting

Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer (only)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Production Support Engineer and Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Assist with design of assigned product lines and applications
  • Prepare necessary design modifications, to include drawings, product structures and product documentation utilizing CAD program and other applicable programs
  • Adhere to engineering standards, specifications, and practices
  • Advise and assist manufacturing on assembly or programming processes and products.
  • Design, maintain, and generate fixture designs for manufacturing processes and inspection
  • Actively work with Production to define improvements in work stations/processes and conduct Continuous Improvement (CI) projects
  • Drawings and Production-related documentation:  generate drawings from new and revised designs; generate packaging requirements; and assemble job router packets 

Production Support Engineer (only):

  • Transfer customer part information into the CAD/CAM system
  • Programming:  perform various CNC programming tasks which includes conversion of customer files to machine-readable code for various machines. (Trumpf TruPunch, Laser, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation of tooling inventories and other department records
  • Design for Manufacturing Reviews (DFM):  conduct DFM reviews internally and externally with customers; review routings to look for best manufacturing option, and review bills of material to confirm accuracy
  • Customer Interaction:  gain clarification, from customer representative, on models received or DFM changes needed
  • Machine Process Support:  work with machine operators to make programs run more efficiently and safely; define set-up and inspection instructions and publish as required, including fixtures
  • Conduct time studies as needed
  • Perform Root Cause evaluations as needed

Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer (only):

  • CAD Work:  maintain accurate and consistent part information on computer files.
  • Ability to investigate and integrate electrical components into finished assembly from a design perspective including appropriate certifications for final product
  • Ability to rapidly address design changes and respond to manufacturing concerns
  • Help troubleshoot field issues
  • Work with Marketing on product roadmap
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis

SUMMARY: Perform MIG and TIG welding operations/activities; 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 5+ years experience in Welding MIG/TIG
  • Experience or exposure to Robotic welding helpful

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ability to MIG and TIG weld, flat and horizontal position
  • Set up MIG/TIG weld
  • Ability to provide and maintain basic operations of robotic welder (already set up)
  • Read and understand part drawing and engineering prints
  • Use current Manufacturing software accurately 
  • Inspect parts [tools: caliper, tape measure, etc.) as directed by the job inspection level
  • Operate forklift, crane and other material handling operations as required
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal and filler material weld characteristics [penetration, welding settings, etc.]
  • Ability to be certified in American Welding Society – AWS certification [not all customers require certification]

Job Summary

Performs auditing function for all process/procedures throughout the production floor and office support processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year accredited college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training
  • ASQ auditor certificate preferred
  • Quality Inspection experience
  • Production Part Approval Procedure (PPAP) experience/knowledge preferred
  • Strong experience in problem solving methods and root cause analysis typical of Lean or Six Sigma environments

Required Skills:

  • Excellent blueprint reading ability
  • Knowledge of weld symbols and GD&T preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Strong knowledge and experience in using inspection equipment
  • Knowledge of 1st Article process (FAIR)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary:

Auditor Responsibilities (75% of time):

  • Conduct initial and ongoing process audits
  • Audit inspection logs from production
  • Audit production set-ups to assure compliance to set-up sheets (press brake, etc.)
  • Audit production processes for compliance to documented procedures and work instructions
  • Based on process audit findings, work directly with Production, Engineering, and Quality to identify opportunities for variation reduction, implement process improvements, and resolve issues
  • Provide process improvement know-how, methods, and conceptual expertise to various departments
  • Work a split-shift covering both 1st and 2nd production times
  • Attend education workshops as needed

Secondary:

Quality Inspector Responsibilities (15% of time):

  • Follow processes and ensure adherence to best production practices and customer quality standards
  • Inspection of raw, in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory parts to determine if they meet customer specifications
  • Track all defects related to part quality, material, subcontract operations, and packaging for analysis
  • Communicate with management and operators regarding quality problems or elevated risk of defects based on inspection data and trend analysis
  • Enter data regarding NCR or RMA issues; keep and update respective lists for review

PPAP Responsibilities (10% of time):

  • Balloon prints
  • Conduct measurements and fill-out paperwork in support of PPAP submissions.
