Dalsin Industries Announces New President & CEO
Dalsin Industries has announced that, after 18 years with the company, President and CEO Gary Fruth will retire by year’s end. It also announced that its board of directors has chosen Tom Schmeling, currently Dalsin’s vice president of sales, to succeed Fruth as president and CEO.
“On behalf of everyone at Dalsin, we are grateful to Gary for his leadership and steadying day-to-day presence,” said Mark Dalsin, co-chair of the company’s board of directors. “During his tenure, Dalsin’s revenue more than doubled while the company garnered numerous awards and recognitions including The Fabricator’s ‘2020 Manufacturer of the Year Award’ and Twin Cities Business Manufacturing Excellence Awards. Gary was also instrumental in building of our Memphis Grills product line into a premier pellet-grill product and in managing the company through unprecedented economic turmoil.”
“The board is excited to have found in Tom a strong and well-prepared executive who will step into the chief executive role with a running start,” said Arnold Angeloni, co-chair of the company’s board of directors. “During his time at Dalsin, Tom has strategically grown revenue as well as demonstrated a firm grasp of all aspects of our business. Before coming to Dalsin, Tom worked in a number of sales and business development roles at precision and recreational manufacturers and those experiences – working with business partners, customers, and helping to manage global supply chains – have been good preparation for his new role.”
“It has been the highlight of my professional life to helping lead Dalsin and to be a part of such an accomplished and inspiring team of professionals,” said Fruth. “As this transition moves ahead, I’m confident that the company is on firm financial ground with a strong strategic plan and a range of opportunities ahead of it. Because of a lot of smart, hard work in every aspect of our business, we are well-positioned for growth as the country emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“Gary has been a great friend and colleague from the moment I walked in the door at Dalsin and it is an honor to follow him into the chief executive role,” said Schmeling. “Dalsin’s future will be built on a strong foundation created by a great group of employees, a strong culture of accountability and quality, and an amazing customer base who trust us with some of their most difficult precision fabricating needs. I’m humbled by the confidence of the board and looking forward to contributing to our future success.”
